The North-Western Interregional Directorate of the Rosselkhoznadzor revealed the sale of a counterfeit veterinary drug through the OZON marketplace. This was told in the press service of the department.
The basis for the inspection was the information received by the Rosselkhoznadzor that an unregistered veterinary drug can be sold on the marketplace. During the test purchase in the store "AlfaVet" through the marketplace, employees bought the veterinary drug "Onsiore" with a shelf life until 2028. The medicine is mainly prescribed to animals with arthritis, arthrosis and dislocations, as well as for inflammatory diseases of soft tissues and during the postoperative period.
The inspection showed that the registration of the drug in the Russian Federation expired on March 1, 2022, the series was not in the information about the entry into civil circulation, there was no information on the packaging and in the instructions in Russian, and the manufacturer did not have a conclusion of the Rosselkhoznadzor on compliance with the rules of good manufacturing practice. The drug was found to be counterfeit.
The Arbitration Court of St. Petersburg and Leningrad region then brought OOO MOREVET to responsibility and imposed a fine of one million rubles. Rosselkhoznadzor reported on the ongoing monitoring of Internet sites and recommended to purchase veterinary drugs only from licensed sellers, checking registration, expiration date and availability of instructions in Russian.
