Russia intends to use the experience of Belarus in regulating the activities of realtors. This was stated by the State Secretary – Deputy Head of Rosreestr Alexei Butovetsky. This is reported by the press service of the Russian Ministry, writes sb.by.

Alexey Butovetsky noted:
Regulating the activities of realtors is necessary – this will first of all establish the responsibility of professional market participants for the quality of services provided by them, increase the transparency of real estate transactions and protect citizens. Our colleagues from the Republic of Belarus have positive experience in this area, and in general, international practice confirms the feasibility of such a decision. Rosreestr is ready to act as a regulator of this activity, we already have specific proposals.”.
He took part in the discussion of the draft federal law “On entrepreneurship in the field of real estate and ensuring the security of transactions with real estate”. It was noted that in Russia part of the market of real estate services is in the shadow zone. The number of private realtors (IP, individuals and legal entities) is 418 thousand people, and the number of specialists providing realtor services is about 550 thousand people. The main part is realtors working in a single person, which indicates a low threshold for entry into the profession and creates risks of uneven quality of services.
