Russian man with arrest warrant caught trying to leave Thailand

Thai immigration police have detained a 45-year-old Russian citizen while trying to cross the border into Laos. This was reported by the police of Mukdahan province.

According to law enforcement agencies, the man was wanted on the basis of an arrest warrant issued by the court on August 14. He was detained in the passport control zone at the Mukdahan-Savannakhet border crossing in the northeast of the country.

The Russian is suspected of several crimes, including illegal access to secure computer systems, intentional damage or alteration of other people's computer data, conspiracy to steal property and money laundering.

After the arrest, the man was handed over to the police department for combating high-tech crimes for further investigation.
