The Red Race gathered hundreds of adults and children in Kingisepp

The traditional "Red Race" was held in the Romanovka Park in Kingisepp. It gathered hundreds of participants from young to old, the public of the Kingisepp district administration said.

Why is the race red? Probably because autumn is red. The organizers chose this name to make the event more vivid and emphasize its informal, friendly nature.

But there is also an important, tragic note in the event. The race is dedicated to the memory of the criminal investigation officer Dmitry Semenov. In the spring of 2025, he noticed a wanted criminal on the street and was fatally wounded while trying to detain him. Therefore, the race became not just a sports holiday, but a tribute that united all those who were not indifferent.

The youngest athletes, born in 2019 and younger, took part in doubles competitions. Distances of 500, 1000 and 2000 meters were prepared for them. Then senior children's groups took to the track. And adults are already behind them. They covered distances of 2 and 4 kilometers.
