Since the beginning of the year on the waters of the Kursk region drowned 16 people. Eight of them are fishermen. This was reported in the Main Department of EMERCOM of Russia in the region.

Four tragedies with fishing lovers have occurred since the beginning of autumn. The last one happened on October 19. Eyewitnesses noticed an overturned boat on a pond in the Zheleznogorsk district. There were fishing gear and a car on the shore. Divers recovered the body of a 45-year-old man from the river. The circumstances and causes of the tragedy are now being investigated.

The Ministry of Emergencies asks residents and guests of the region to comply with safety rules for fishing. Rescuers do not recommend going fishing alone. It is important to inform relatives of the place and time of return. In bad weather, it is better to refuse fishing.

Before going to the water, you need to wear a life jacket and check the equipment. You can not overload the boat and sail far from the shore. Also, rescuers strongly advise not to drink alcohol on fishing - it slows down the reaction and impairs coordination.
