More than 850 babies were born with IVF in Belarus in 2025

Over 20 years of using assisted reproductive technologies, more than 10,000 children were born in the country, only in 2025 - 868 babies. This was told to journalists by the deputy director for scientific work of the RSPC “Mother and Child” Ivan Kurlovich on October 14, reports the correspondent of the agency “Minsk-Novosti”.

In March 2026, the President signed Decree No. 100 “On in vitro fertilization”, which establishes the right to two free attempts of in vitro fertilization (IVF) in public health organizations. This right has both married couples and single women in the presence of medical indications and the absence of contraindications. If the first attempt ended with the birth of a child, the right to a second free IVF is retained.

Due to the careful selection of patients, the effectiveness of IVF in Belarus reaches 42%, which exceeds some world indicators.

- This is a real contribution to demographic security and, more importantly, the fulfillment of a woman’s right to motherhood, when nature puts obstacles.
