With care and respect: the youth of the Belynichsky district joined the action “Good to the elders”

The republican charity event “Good to the Elders”, which became part of the large-scale youth volunteer marathon “Dobro.Bel” from BRSM, is walking around the country. Today, on October 17, the youth of the Belynichsky district joined her. The guys continued the chain of good deeds and helped to restore order on the site of lonely pensioner Anna Hodosova, writes sb.by.

In Belynichy on Lugovoi Street, despite the day off, young people gather from the very morning, who were united by a good goal - to help. And in this situation, the motto was: “Who, if not us?” In the hands of students and working activists everything you need - from gloves to trimmer. To mow, remove fallen apples, apply water and firewood – today there is a lot of work to do

89-year-old Anna Sergeevna, which came to the labor troops, such help is incredibly happy. She said she had been in the hospital for three months, and when she returned home, she found that everything was overgrown with grass. The most to restore order is not under force - health is not the same, she throws an excited look towards the overgrown area:

In the summer, when I was home, I hired people: they came, mowed the grass, I paid for everything. Now the wood has been ordered, they will bring it - you need to fold it. Social worker comes twice a week: water and firewood brings, food and medicines on the list buys. But now she's caught a cold, on sick leave. My husband is 16 years old and there are only pensioners in the village. If it were not for the young, where would the old man go?

Anna Sergeevna used to live all her life with her work - and she planted a garden, and kept a large farm: a cow, horses, pigs, chickens, turkeys - anyone there was. With tears of joy and gratitude, she looks at the assistants who are busy with a large labor landing in her yard:

Well done guys, what would I do without them? At one time I also helped the elders, and went to virgin land for two years. Life was difficult, grew up without parents – Dad only seven days did not live to see the Victory, and the Germans killed his mother right at home. They were orphans, and the grandmother of the three of us benefited. After all, all three institutes graduated, worked all the time – no one was lost. I rejoice how good it is now in the country: before there was nothing to get, but now there is everything that only the soul desires. And we, the old people, help – it’s nice.

Senior instructor-rescuer of Belynichsky ROCHS Arthur Humor confidently clings to the trimmer: his task is to restore order in the yard and trim the street. He has been volunteering for about three years, since his college days. I will never be indifferent to someone else's misfortune, he admits:

- To help those who need it, you need not only on duty, but also in your personal time - at the behest of the soul. To take care of their parents, grandparents is the duty of every person, there is even nothing to argue about. But you can not stay away and pass by someone else's trouble. There are many elderly people around who find it difficult to cope with household issues. To come and support them in a difficult situation and to see sincere gratitude is really important to me.

- I really like helping people. I always respond to other people's troubles, so I want to choose such a profession. I want to help Anna Sergeevna – I understand how difficult it is for her alone. I think that young people are really different now, but they will always come to the rescue – no one will refuse to help their grandparents. I believe there are more good people and we are always happy to help.

The main goal of the youth initiative is to provide real targeted assistance to lonely and lonely elderly citizens, labor veterans and people with disabilities. Dayana Zuyko, First Secretary of the Belynichsky District Committee of the BRSM, tells how the work on the ground is organized:

- It’s time for volunteers to rush to help. In autumn, the main work is associated with restoring order in the surrounding areas: it is necessary to remove fallen foliage and dry grass, put in order the gardens, trim the site. If necessary, chop wood or bring a bag of vegetables from the agricultural fair - always please. But in winter, the focus shifts to cleaning yards and roads from snow.

Today, the Belynichsky district organization BRSM is an impressive force uniting almost 750 people. Volunteer raids take place regularly, not only on weekends, but also on weekdays. The schedule is tight: just last week worked 5 addresses. We accept applications and take the initiative ourselves, notes Diana Zuyko:

- Our district committee works closely with the Center for Social Services of the Population: we regularly find out which of the grandparents needs support right now. In addition, the contacts of the organization and my personal phone number are published in the district newspaper, so anyone in need can ask for help directly.

It also happens that a social worker, for whom several people are assigned, is not always physically able to reach everyone in one day - the load is large. But in the social service work mainly women who find it difficult to perform certain types of work alone - for example, to mow tall grass. In such situations, young people give a shoulder, continues Diana Zuyko:

- Assistance is our common, collective business, so we work closely with all organizations and institutions. For example, helps the ROCHS, actively helps the UCP “Housing Committee”, which provides the necessary equipment and equipment – the same trimmers for trimming grass.

Each application for children is a separate human story that requires sensitivity and attention. And the elderly people meet assistants with sincere joy - they try to treat sweets, talk heart to heart. For them, this is real care and help. But the process is not one-sided: for young people, participation in such initiatives becomes an important life lesson and an opportunity to touch the experiences of older people, explains Diana Zuyko:

- We have very active and responsive young people. Children from schools and businesses ask about new departures and gladly agree to help. They are really interested in talking to veterans and seniors. This is the real, living connection of generations. In addition, everyone has grandparents, so our volunteers know that if their relatives ever need help, caring people will also be nearby - this is how the chain of good starts.
