The health service of Belarus has denied the myth associated with the comparison of different types of soap

Antibacterial soap is not superior to conventional in its effectiveness, and too hot water does not help to get rid of germs better than water at a comfortable temperature. This was reported by specialists of the Republican Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Public Health on the occasion of the World Clean Hands Day celebrated on October 15, writes sb.by.

The experts said:

- The main secret of cleanliness is the thoroughness and duration - at least 20 seconds - of washing. After washing your hands, it is necessary to wipe dry, preferably with a disposable paper towel, since moist skin promotes active reproduction and transmission of microorganisms.

The center noted that systematic hand washing can prevent up to 40 percent of intestinal and up to 25 percent of respiratory diseases, according to the World Health Organization.

World Clean Hands Day is an international event designed to remind that simple hand washing with soap is one of the most effective and affordable ways to prevent infectious diseases. The health service of Minsk reminded patients of the rules for visiting clinics during the period of rising incidence of ARI
