Collection on the main Tver chimes opened a resident of the Leningrad region

A resident of the Leningrad region Valentina Kharitonova made a significant contribution to the cathedral chimes in Tver. With the Tver region it connects the most important thing - childhood. She was born in the village of Mikshino near Likhoslavl, graduated from the Kalinin Engineering College and went to work in Leningrad in 1959, since then she has lived there.

Valentina Mikhailovna worked as a technology engineer for 36 years, retired 30 years ago, and now she and her sister Tatiana Mikhailovna live together in a country house. She remembers a difficult childhood, about the war, which found very small, about her mother, who dug trenches under Rzhev, about her father, whom he hardly remembers - he flashed into her life quickly: he went to war, returned, and soon died.

Valentina Mikhailovna, as often happens with people who have lived a lot, does not lament difficulties, but rather takes them for granted. It was extremely important for her to donate her savings for the bell tower of the Transfiguration Cathedral. She, a long-time resident of the Leningrad region, follows what is happening in the Tver land, knows and remembers her homeland. Valentina Mikhailovna herself contacted the Foundation “In the Name of St. Michael Tversky” and asked for a targeted donation to the cathedral chimes.

Director of the Foundation Sergey Kornilov personally went to the meeting, who, in gratitude for the attention to the work on the restoration of the belfry, presented Valentina Mikhailovna on behalf of Metropolitan Ambrose of Tver and Kashinsky, a medal of Neil Stolobensky III degree, noting that Valentina Kharitonova’s initiative to provide assistance is an example for many, and every blow of the new cathedral chimes will testify to this.
