On the Day of Official Symbols of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, the Governor of the NAO Irina Gekht told about their history.
The anthem of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug has two authors: poetess Inga Arteeva and composer Tatiana Artemieva, concertmaster of the children’s art school Naryan-Mara. Poems and music created by the countrymen became the voice of the region.
The flag also has its own story. The border of the blue stripe repeats the Nenets ornament “deer horn”. From this pattern, you can recognize the district without even reading its name.
Irina Gekht noted that today is a good reason to take a closer look at the usual flag, listen to the anthem, tell children about the people who created them. So familiar from childhood images and melodies make sense.
The governor congratulated the residents on the holiday and wished that for those who grow up in the district, its history was the history of their home.
