The village is getting younger: deputies of the SS discussed support for cultural initiatives of rural residents
We discussed the material base separately. A quarter of rural culture houses and clubs are in need of major renovations.

At the meeting of the Committee on Education, Culture, Sports, Youth and Media, the results of monitoring of cultural institutions in rural areas were considered. The conversation was attended by Minister of Culture Olga Demina, headmen of several settlements and the head of the Association “Council of Municipal Entities of the Region” Anatoly Kurgansky.
The monitoring showed that the village is getting younger, life there is becoming more active, and the residents themselves are waiting for changes in the sphere of culture. People are ready to hold events, lead circles and sections, participate in the improvement, investing energy, time and creativity, including on a voluntary basis.
We discussed the material base separately. A quarter of rural culture houses and clubs are in need of major renovations. From 2022 to 2026, 50 buildings were renovated and 5 new ones built, but the cost of work is growing, so they are looking for cheaper solutions, in particular the construction of modular leisure centers.
After hearing the information, the deputies recommended that the Ministry of Culture and municipalities support residents’ initiatives, develop proactive budgeting programs, inform the population more about existing programs and actively involve volunteers in the work of cultural institutions.
