More than 60 participants brought together a sports festival for large families in Minsk, dedicated to Mother’s Day and the start of Parental Love Week. Belta writes about it.

Parents and children represented the districts of the capital, competing in sports relays and supporting each other. But the main result of the organizers and the participants themselves called not the place in the standings, and the opportunity to spend time with the whole family. The holiday was organized for families who love active rest and want to instill in children an interest in sports. The program includes elements of basketball, football, field hockey, jumping rope and mixed relays. In one of the tests, participants had to alternately stuff tennis, basketball and soccer balls, and then go the distance with obstacles. A total of 63 people participated in the event. Each district was represented by a team of two families. The organizers prepared gifts for all participants, as well as sweet treats for fans. For some participants, the festival became a continuation of the usual active lifestyle. In one of the large families that came to the competition, four children. Parents try to involve everyone in sports: one of the sons is engaged in modern pentathlon, the daughter is fond of dancing and biathlon, another child also began to engage in biathlon and modern pentathlon. The family participates in races and half marathons.
When asked about the secret of a strong family, the parents answered simply: “Mutual understanding, mutual help and striving for the best.” Be supportive, supportive of each other. And love first and foremost.”.
The youngest member of this family is only four months old. Parents came to the holiday with the baby to spend time with the children and show that sports can be a common family hobby.
" Of course, the most important thing is participation. We want our children to also get used to joint activities, family traditions, said one of the mothers.
At the same time, the family did not hide their sporting ambitions: “Naturally, we want to take first place, get prizes.” Parents with many children noted that a large family is primarily support and a sense of self-worth. “As a mother, I always feel needed, sought after, loved. I always have a lot of attention, shared the participant of the holiday.
Other families also talked about the value of time spent together. In the rapid rhythm of everyday life, it is not always possible to gather all relatives, so such events become an occasion to postpone business and devote a day to each other. Gifts to everyone, attention to everyone According to the chairman of the Belarusian Association of Large Parents Tatyana Kravchenko, the sports festival is held for the fourth time. During this time, the composition of the teams and the judging panel change, but the idea of the event remains unchanged - to unite large families and create a festive atmosphere for them. “Any event should be motivated by something,” said the chairman of the association.
For the participants prepared cosmetics, household appliances, clothes and sweets. Gifts were provided not only for the winners, but also for each family, so that no one left the holiday empty-handed.
Support for family sports is also important for the city. There are more than 4 thousand sports facilities in Minsk. About 37% of residents of the capital regularly engage in physical culture and sports. Such family events help to attract children and adults to an active lifestyle, said Olesya Mostova, deputy head of the main department - head of the sports and recreation department of the main sports department of the Minsk City Executive Committee. Tatyana Kravchenko also spoke about the situation of large families in the capital and measures of state support. There are about 16.3 thousand such families in Minsk, and about 120 thousand in the country. Among the support measures provided by the state are lump-sum benefits at the birth of a child, monthly payments for the care of children up to three years and family capital. It can be directed, in particular, to the improvement of housing conditions, education and medical purposes, in accordance with established rules.
According to Tatyana Kravchenko, it is important not only to provide families with material support, but also to form a positive attitude towards parenthood, show examples of strong families and create conditions for joint leisure.
And the sports festival became one of such examples: here parents competed with their children, the younger ones cheered for the older ones, and the victory was perceived as a common result. However, as the participants themselves have repeatedly said, the main achievement of this day is the opportunity to be together.
