Dmitry Novikov, a student of Kursk school No. 57, became one of the 33 winners of the XXIII All-Russian competition “My country is my Russia”. This competition collects youth author projects that help develop Russian territories.
Dmitry’s project is a video guide for the Kursk region “Where Nightingales Sing”. This is a series of short dynamic videos on VKontakte, and the jury recognized it as the best in the nomination “My hospitable Russia”. Each issue tells about a famous person of the region or a cultural heritage site. All materials are divided into six directions: outstanding chickens, nature, art, industry, historical monuments and shrines. The presenters are peers of the audience who add personal impressions to the facts.
The competition has existed since 2003: during this time the initiative has spread widely across the regions, it is supported by authorities, local government and experts. “My country is my Russia” is held within the framework of the federal project “Russia is a country of opportunities” of the national project “Youth and Children” with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund.
