Thomas, 46, from Munich, was used to the German healthcare system and did not expect a routine visit to a doctor in Russia to make such an impression on him.

"How much money for a call?": A German with a temperature of 39.2°C was speechless when a doctor came to see him. The reception bill shocked him

During a trip to Samara, the man became seriously ill. The temperature rose to 39.2 ° C, a severe cough began, and weakness did not allow you to get up normally from the sofa, writes Zen channel “Russia, which is not shown”.

Thomas decided to look for a private clinic and pay for an emergency appointment. However, the mother-in-law Tatyana Sergeevna suggested another solution: to call the local therapist at home.

The woman called the clinic, reported symptoms and called the address. The German incredulously waited for the continuation, but soon a doctor really came to them.

Therapist Elena Nikolaevna examined the patient, listened to the lungs, checked the pressure and condition of the throat. She explained how to be treated, what drugs to take and in which cases a second examination will be required.

Thomas was especially touched by the doctor's attention to small things. Before applying the stethoscope to the patient's chest, she warmed him in her palms so that the cold metal would not cause discomfort.

For the sick man, this was an unexpected manifestation of care. He used to think of medical care primarily as a service provided according to established rules.

When the inspection was over, Thomas reached for his wallet and asked how much the challenge cost. The doctor explained that the help of a local therapist at home under the state guarantees program is provided free of charge, subject to the established conditions.

In Russia, primary medical care under the MHI policy includes doctor’s appointments and services provided for by the program. Calling a therapist home is possible for medical reasons, although the order and availability of such services depend on the region and the patient's condition.

The story made a strong impression on Thomas. He expected difficulties and expenses, but instead received medical care at home without going outside with a high fever.

This incident has forced him to take a fresh look at the health care system. Sometimes it is in an unfamiliar country that a person notices what he used to take for granted: attention to the patient, human participation and willingness to help in difficult times.

At the same time, the conditions of medical care in Germany and Russia differ, and the possibility of calling a doctor depends on the specific situation. But for Thomas, the main memory of the trip was not the difference between the systems, but the attitude of the doctor who came to his house and calmly explained what to do next.
