The delegation of the Smolensk region took part in the All-Russian exhibition "Golden Autumn - 2026", which was held in Moscow from 7 to 10 October. This largest agricultural forum brought together leading experts, entrepreneurs and farmers of the country. During the exhibition, regional representatives held a number of business meetings aimed at identifying vectors of cooperation in the field of support of the agricultural sector.
One of the key events was the talks between Deputy Prime Minister of the Smolensk Region Alexei Kuchumov and Minister of Agriculture and Food Ekaterina Efremova with General Director of Rosagroleasing Vladimir Balter. The parties discussed various mechanisms of assistance to farmers. Particular attention was paid to the unique experience of the Smolensk region for Russia in subsidizing the down payment under equipment leasing agreements. This program, launched on behalf of Governor Vasily Anokhin, has already proved its relevance, as selections for participation in it are held regularly - every few months or quarterly.
Commenting on the situation, the Governor of the Smolensk region Vasily Anokhin stressed that the region is systematically working to provide agricultural producers with the necessary support measures. He noted that leasing is a popular tool for updating the equipment fleet, and the regional subsidy allows to partially reimburse the costs of the first lease payment. According to the head of the region, the popularity of this support measure will only grow.
Following the talks, the parties expressed their intention to deepen cooperation. It was agreed to hold a working meeting of the leadership of Rosagroleasing directly in the Smolensk region. This format of interaction will allow to elaborate support mechanisms and adapt them to the specific needs of local farmers.
