Smolensk investigators met with participants of the patriotic shift “Volunteers of Victory”

On the eve of the Day of National Unity, employees of the SU IC of Russia in the Smolensk region and activists of WMOO Sledkom organized a meeting with teenagers in the Orlyonok patriotic education center. The event was held as part of the historical and patriotic shift “Volunteers of Victory”, which united active schoolchildren of the region, including the cadet of specialized classes of the Investigative Committee of Russia. The meeting was organized at the invitation of the head of the Smolensk branch of the “Victory Volunteers” Natalia Lareeva as part of the action “Russia is a family of families”, the main idea of which is the unity of people and a careful attitude to common history.

During the conversation, Ekaterina Novikova, assistant to the head of the investigative department for social and political work, informed the children about the information project “Exit 31”, aimed at discussing complex and dangerous topics in a language that is understandable to young people. Adolescents were instructed on how to recognize recruitment attempts and not become involved in illegal activities. The representative of the department also elaborated on the issue of legal responsibility for terrorist and extremist crimes, including those committed by minors.

Senior investigator Irina Shelpakova introduced the participants to the activities of the departmental search team Pathfinder. She spoke about field expeditions and demonstrated the found objects that serve as evidence of historical events in the region. In addition, the students got acquainted with the work of forensic technology that helps investigators in their professional activities.

The interactive part of the meeting included a quiz on the history of Russia and investigative activities, prepared by activists of WMOO “Sledkom”. With the help of special questions, the guys were able to test their knowledge and show ingenuity, and the winners were marked with memorable gifts.

Such events contribute not only to the acquaintance of teenagers with the profession of an investigator, but also to the formation of their sense of personal responsibility and respect for the law. The combination of history lessons and discussion of protection from dangerous appeals helps young people to understand the importance of preserving the past and the unity of society.
