Smolensk athletes performed well at the Cup of the Governor of Kamchatka

Young athletes from the Smolensk region performed worthily at the interregional MMA tournament “Governor’s Cup”, which was held in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky on October 10-11. The competition was attended by 170 strongest young fighters from various regions of the country, including Moscow, Buryatia and a number of Far Eastern and Siberian regions.

Despite the high competition, Smolensk boys demonstrated the will to win and won the most gold awards in their weight categories. Gold medals in the category of 12-13 years were brought by Egor Zholobov and Nariman Gasayniev from the Sparta club, as well as Denis Kovalev and Pavel Kornienko, who represented the Olax club. In addition, Alexei Yelentsov won silver in the men's category up to 70.3 kg, and Kirill Gilityuk took bronze in the 14-15-year-old category.

The girls also showed excellent results. Victoria Gilityuk from the club “Olaks” became the gold medalist in the category of 12-13 years, and Irina Petruseva from the club “Sparta” took second place in the category of 14-15 years.

Such high achievements were made possible thanks to the discipline of athletes and professional training of the coaching staff. The Governor of the Smolensk region congratulated the athletes on their successful performance, expressed pride for the young fighters and wished them new bright victories.
