Smolensk State University celebrated the 108th anniversary with large-scale achievements

Rector of Smolensk State University Mikhail Artemenkov congratulated veterans, teachers, students and graduates on the 108th anniversary of the university. In his address, he noted that this date covers a whole era since the foundation of the university in 1918, which turned Smolensk State University into a point of attraction for creators.

Over the past year, the university has made a significant breakthrough in the development of:

- Smolensk State University became a resident of the large-scale interuniversity campus Gagarin.

The military training center continues to train personnel, strengthening the defense capability of Russia.

New and successfully implemented strategically important network programs with leading universities of the country.

Scientific life is actively developing: dissertations were defended, scientists received grants from the Russian Science Foundation and presented their research at the international level. The university hosted researchers from China, the USA, Italy, Thailand, Korea, Mongolia and neighboring countries, and the geography of Russian participants stretched from Arkhangelsk to Khabarovsk. Students of the university won dozens of awards at all-Russian competitions, sports competitions and festivals.

The rector thanked the faculty and veterans for their daily work, knowledge and values that they pass on to new generations, and wished the university further prosperity.
