Sochi will prepare a coastal fortification plan together with the Kurchatov Institute
In Sochi, began preparation of priority measures to strengthen the coastline

In Sochi, the preparation of priority measures to strengthen the coastline began. The head of the city Andrey Proszubnin held a meeting on the implementation of the strategic agreement with the National Research Center "Kurchatov Institute".
As reported in the administration of the resort, the meeting participants considered further steps to organize work and interact with the scientific community. Heads of specialized industries were instructed to ensure coordination between departments and submit proposals for the first stages of the program.
According to Andrey Proszuknin, the preservation of the coast is of great importance for Sochi as a resort, since the tourist attractiveness of the city and its economic potential depend on the state of the coastal zone.
To prepare solutions, a permanent working group and a Scientific Council were formed in Sochi with the participation of heads and specialists of leading scientific institutions of the resort.
The work will take place in stages. First of all, it is necessary to identify emergency areas of the coast that need priority protection measures. Then experts will develop recommendations for the preparation of coastal fortification projects in other territories.
The immediate task is to prepare a technical specification for the first stages of work. In the future, it is planned to combine scientific developments, state support and resources of different levels of government.
The integrated approach should help identify the most effective solutions for preserving the Sochi coastline in the long term.
Earlier it was reported that the beaches of Sochi are under threat.
