71.2% of Belarusians highly appreciate the level of development of their settlement

The majority of Belarusians have a positive assessment of living conditions in their settlements. This is evidenced by the data of a comprehensive republican sociological study, which was presented by the head of the economic analysis department of the internal policy department of the Belarusian Institute for Strategic Studies (BISI) Irina Rusak, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

The overall level of socio-economic development of their settlement is estimated by 71.2% of respondents. 87.9% of respondents are satisfied with the work of trade facilities, 64.3% are satisfied with the work of catering facilities (dining rooms, cafes, restaurants).

- As for trade, the figure is up compared to the previous study. That is, we have the right course and, what is important, almost at the same level, the answers of residents of the city and rural areas – more than 85% are satisfied. As for catering, the indicator also increased, said the analyst of BISI.

63.7% of the study participants were satisfied with the opportunities for recreation, leisure, public transport – 72.2%, road quality – 70.4%, housing and communal services – 61.2%, yards – 62.7%, children’s playgrounds, streets. 64.9% of respondents were satisfied with the work of health care institutions.

According to I. Rusak, satisfaction with public transport has increased, citizens feel improved accessibility and comfort of travel, and renewal of the transport fleet remains a priority until 2030. Satisfaction with the quality of roads has increased by almost 1.5 times due to systematic work to reduce dimness and improve pavement. In addition, satisfaction with the work of utilities increased due to the large-scale modernization of infrastructure.

64.9% of respondents were satisfied with the work of health care institutions.

- There is high satisfaction, and the indicators are quite stable. But there are also questions in this area. People complain about the presence of queues. Now the digitalization of this sphere is taking place, and the state program until 2030 contains very important mechanisms to ensure timely and high-quality medical care anywhere in Belarus, said the analyst of BISS.
