The representative of the Smolensk Federal Penitentiary Service has successfully passed the most difficult tests for the right to wear a maroon beret, demonstrating high physical endurance, tactical literacy, shooting skills and the ability to act in non-standard situations.
All-Russian tests among employees of special purpose departments of the territorial bodies of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia ended in the Republic of Mordovia. 92 fighters from 44 regions of the country took part in the competitions, but as a result of a tough selection, only 13 best employees reached the finals, including a representative of the Smolensk region.
The test programme included a number of traditional and extremely difficult phases. Participants made marches on rough terrain under the imitation of shelling, while evacuating the “wounded” and performing physical exercises. Also, the fighters had to overcome a special obstacle course, crawl under armored vehicles under heavy machine gun fire and storm high-rise buildings, using grenades, knocking out window frames and firing during the descent. The final stage was duels with instructors.
The employee of the department stressed that the path to obtaining this insignia was not easy and required extreme concentration, endurance and willpower from him. He also noted that getting a marble beret is a great responsibility and an excellent incentive for further professional growth, thereby confirming the readiness for any challenges that the service poses to him.
