Employees of the Novgorod Ministry of Agriculture manually removed carrots from blurred fields

The rainy autumn made it difficult for Novgorod farmers to work. Due to the abundance of dirt fields in places became impassable even for the most modern equipment, and the harvest had to be cleaned the old-fashioned way, manually, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Novgorod region reported.

Employees of the regional Ministry of agriculture and subordinate institutions decided to help. They left their offices and went to one of the farms to help remove the carrots. Together, the crop was harvested and sent for storage.

“This example shows that in agriculture, despite all the advances in technology, the human factor remains decisive. When nature challenges, it is the willingness to come to the rescue and work shoulder to shoulder becomes the key to the food security of the region, the Novgorod Ministry of Agriculture said on its page.

Earlier, Deputy Governor Oleg Shakhov told the head of the region Alexander Dronov that due to prolonged rains, part of the vegetable harvest will be lost.
