On Fomin Day, parents paid attention to teaching children household and household skills.
Girls, who were seven years old, mothers for the first time brought to the loom, showed how to handle threads and weave the canvas. Older daughters were taught sewing, cooking and other activities necessary for their own household.
The fathers, in turn, introduced the sons to the order of storage and distribution of supplies. A special custom existed for young adults who were going to get married. Such a section was called "cut suseks" - to give his son his own share in the common bins.
