Specialists of Smolenskenergo held a master lecture “Russia is an energy power” for schoolchildren

The branch of PJSC Rosseti Center – Smolenskenergo held an interactive master lecture “Russia is an energy power” for students of the Multidisciplinary Lyceum of Smolensk. The event aimed at career guidance and promotion of engineering professions became an important event for children.

As part of the lecture, held in the walls of the museum of the energy company, schoolchildren got acquainted with the key sectors of the fuel and energy complex of Russia. The main speaker of the meeting was the head of the energy saving and energy efficiency department of the branch Anastasia Kulachenkova. She spoke about the history and current state of the domestic energy industry, emphasizing its strategic importance for the economy and everyday life. Particular attention was paid to Russia’s achievements in the global energy market.

Our country ranks first in the world in the production of enriched uranium for nuclear fuel and is among the leaders in oil and natural gas production. They got acquainted with the role of thermal, hydro- and nuclear power plants, and also learned about the prospects for the development of renewable energy sources.

The event was held in the format of a live dialogue. A separate block was devoted to educational projects, such as the Russian Engineering School and energy classes, which open the way for young people to enter the profession.

“Our task is not just to tell about a complex and important industry, but also to ignite in the children a spark of interest in creative work,” said Anastasia Kulachenkova. Energy is the foundation of our future, and we hope that tomorrow’s schoolchildren will become the specialists who will develop and strengthen Russia’s energy sector.

In the coming days, similar events with the participation of representatives of Smolenskenergo will be held in educational institutions of the region.
