In the village of Varzuga, Tersky district from June to October 2026, there was no paramedic in the paramedic and obstetric post. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor’s office of the Murmansk region. This is not the first inspection by the prosecutor's office or the first violation.
Due to the remoteness of the village from the district center - more than 130 kilometers - it was difficult for people to get medical care in time. The medical institution did not take effective measures to find a paramedic to work in Varzuga. The issue of business trips or the rotational method of work of a paramedic from another settlement was not considered.
The prosecutor's office of the Tersky district made a presentation to the chief doctor of the Murmansk regional clinical hospital named after Bayandin. After that, the institution decided to organize weekly trips of a paramedic from Kuzomeni to Varzuga on Thursdays and Fridays during the absence of a permanent employee.
Problems with the availability of medical care in Varzuga have been identified before. In June 2026, the prosecutor’s office reported that the local FAP was not equipped for ophthalmological and ENT examinations, and the ramp was absent, the lifting platform for disabled patients did not work. At the same time, in the neighboring Kuzomeni, the inspection revealed the lack of water supply and a number of important medical devices.
Earlier, “MK in Murmansk” said that Apatit residents are sent to go for help to narrow medical specialists for 200 kilometers.
