Orenburg Stadium cannot be completed from 2024

Now about how this story developed. In November 2023, artificial football coating and materials worth more than 23 million rubles were purchased. They lay under snow and rain until 2025, the glue expired. In 2024, another tender was announced for $ 45 million for laying treadmills, but limited to the delivery of materials. The authorities explained the delays by clarifying the design and estimate documentation and passing the state examination. By the autumn of last year, the work accelerated, dismantled the old coating, prepared the foundations, in the spring a new lawn appeared. But then work stalled again, Orenday noted.

The stadium was not mastered, and the red tape passed to Albert Yumadilov, the new head of Orenburg. But, despite his efforts, the work progressed as under the old mayor: the deadline was postponed and postponed. To give credit, by the fall of last year, the work was boiling. In two months, they did more than in the previous two years: they dismantled the worn-out surface, prepared the foundation of a new football field, installed a side stone and a drainage tray, prepared the foundation for treadmills. In the spring of this year, Orenday correspondents saw that a green artificial lawn appeared at the stadium, quartz sand and rubber granulate were filled, the entrance group was rolled into asphalt. This work was done by OrenStroy 56 LLC. But that's what blew it off.

Separately, it is worth remembering the promises. Back in the spring, there was an announcement on the stadium gates that the opening of the facility was planned for the second quarter - and it ended in June, the stadium was never opened. In June, the head of Orenburg Albert Yumadilov promised that the completion of repairs and commissioning are planned by the end of the third quarter of 2026 – that is, in September. At that time, he said, there were no delays from the schedule. However, it is already the fourth quarter. Now a large printing plate hangs on the gate, which announces: “The deadline for the completion of repairs is Q4 2026.” However, right on this official shield over the printed term someone by hand corrected the numbers. It looks as if even the administration itself is not sure when the facility will be ready. The mayor’s office now refers to the deadline for the contract – November 1, 2026, and on the spot they shake their hands and write announcements by hand.

Orenburg never ceases to amaze with its approach to improvement and repairs. When on the official shield over the printed deadlines flaunts the correction by hand, and next to hangs a note “security does not know...”, it is not just long-term construction. This is a clear indicator of how communication with citizens works, the city hall has official promises, but people are left to themselves at the facility itself. And if security really doesn't know when the renovations will be completed, what is left for residents who have been waiting for years for the stadium to open?

Have you noticed such handwritten ads in Orenburg? When do you think the stadium will actually open?
