Stankevich and Kostin received senior positions in the state Duma

The State Duma adopted a resolution on the election of first deputies and deputy chairmen of committees and commissions. According to information on the website of the lower house, representatives of the Nizhny Novgorod region Yuri Stankevich and Evgeny Kostin took senior positions.

Yuri Stankevich was elected First Deputy Chairman of the Energy Committee. Evgeny Kostin, who held the post of first deputy chairman of the city Duma of Nizhny Novgorod before joining the State Duma, was appointed deputy chairman of the economic policy committee.

State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin noted that the resolution gives each faction, regardless of the size, the opportunity to participate in the development and adoption of decisions in the relevant committees. According to him, this day the work on the organization of structural units and committees of the State Duma is being completed: the factions themselves have determined where they will have representatives in leadership positions, and now the emphasis is shifting to responsible and productive work.
