In the Stavropol Territory, corn harvesting continues: 41.6% of sown areas were threshed, 313.9 thousand tons were threshed, and the average yield is 68.2 c / ha. As noted in the regional Ministry of agriculture, this is significantly higher than last year’s figure at a similar stage of cleaning.
Leaders in yield were Stepnovsky, Kochubeyevsky, Trunovsky and Neftekum districts, and the largest harvesting areas are concentrated in Novoaleksandrovsk, Izobilnensky, Podgorny, Ipatovsky and Kochubeyevsky districts.
Corn remains a universal crop, which is mainly used for animal feed, so special attention is paid to the development of this direction in the region. This year, state support is provided to 14 projects for the development of land reclamation, which is critical for growing corn: they will cover about 6.5 thousand hectares, which will help to obtain stable yields and improve the agricultural economy. For comparison, in 2024, about 250 thousand tons of corn were harvested in the Stavropol region on the same date with a yield of about 55–60 c / ha, thus, the current growth is more than 15%.
Earlier, the governor of Stavropol reported that 41.6% of corn was harvested, the yield is higher than last year.
