The Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Kalmykia signed a tripartite memorandum aimed at developing cooperation in the field of motorsport. Their signatures under the document were put by the Minister of Sport of the region Konstantin Batyrov, General Director of the NP "Interregional Association of Rally Raid Athletes" Dmitry Peretyatko and the head of the company "FOKSHAUND" Alexander Gorbachev.
The main goal of the agreement is to transfer real rally tracks to virtual reality. The project will include routes laid along the Kalmyk steppe. To make virtual races as similar as possible to real ones, the creators use materials collected on the ground. This will help to accurately convey the features of the landscape and the configuration of the tracks.
It is expected that such a step will not only attract attention to digital competitions and rally raids, but also contribute to the development of tourism in the region. Virtual travel in Kalmykia will be of interest to potential guests of the republic.
We will remind, now in Kalmykia is the Baha “Great Steppe”, which became the fourth stage of the championship of Russia in rally raids.
