Alexander Rudenkov, a student of the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technologies of VSU named after P. M. Masherov, has developed an application where you can evaluate skin neoplasms using digital images, BelTA reports.

Work on the project started about a year ago. “I was an inspiration. Offered his classmate Igor Orekh to create an application that would monitor the dynamics of the development of skin formations. There were no Belarusian analogues in the Play Market and App Store, and we decided to create the first domestic product that solves a specific healthcare problem. Also, a student of Vitebsk State Medical University Alexey Ostrovsky joined this work. It took us about two months to create the first working prototype, said Alexander Rudenkov.

The project was called “Radzimka”. “It’s a Telegram app that uses artificial intelligence to make self-structured skin inspections and pay attention to suspicious changes.” How does it work? Any user can find our bot by the nickname NevusGuard, go to the application icon, take a picture, for example, your mole, send a photo to the bot - and he will automatically form recommendations: continue observation or consult a doctor. Important: Our app does not position itself as a replacement for a doctor. This is a tool for monitoring skin changes, said Alexander Rudenkov.

He stressed that the essence of the project is best described by his motto - "A small photo for great calm." “Care for health begins with attention to oneself. We wanted to make the first step towards skin examination more accessible, because people often put health issues on hold.

On October 16, Alexander Rudyankov presented the project in the competition program of the AI Atom Global Expo 2026 international forum held in Minsk, and Radzymka won. At the exhibition, 50 international projects were presented at BelExpo, among them the best ones were chosen. Winning is nice, but our main goal is not to collect a collection of diplomas, but to create technology that will work in real health care. The most important victory for us is the one that the patient will one day gain over the disease due to a timely visit to the doctor, the young man said.

Now "Radzymka" is already a working project, which is planned to develop further. “He has already received feedback from medical professionals. We have several acts of implementation in healthcare institutions. We are open to cooperation, waiting for partners and investors. The project can be used by primary staff and specialized specialists. Our bot is able to recognize only seven skin formations, two of which are cancerous. We plan to expand the classification. If this can be done, it will be a world-class application, provided that the appropriate values of sensitivity, specificity and accuracy, explained Alexander Rudenkov.

More than 300 medical students from Grodno will join the action on voluntary blood donation
