The court arrested the ex-official of the Ministry of health of Dagestan

The court detained the former head of the Department of Pharmacy and Public Procurement of the Ministry of Health of Dagestan, detained on suspicion of exceeding official powers, the joint press service of the courts of the republic reports.

According to the materials of the case, the ex-official single-handedly decided to conclude a contract for the purchase of medical nutrition in the amount of 143 million rubles, without having the appropriate authority.

As a result, budget money was used to purchase products, the need for which was not confirmed. At the same time, local residents with chronic diseases were left without the necessary medicines, which required additional budgetary funding for their purchase.

The Soviet district court of Makhachkala detained the suspect until December 9, 2026 inclusive. The investigation is ongoing.
