The court extended the arrest of property and detention in the jail of Viktor Goncharov

Former Deputy Governor of the Rostov region Viktor Goncharov will remain in the detention center for another three months. This decision was made by the October District Court of Rostov-on-Don. The detention period has been extended until at least January 23. In addition, the court kept the arrest on the property of the ex-official, reports Donday from the courtroom.

Viktor Goncharov became a defendant in a criminal case in early 2025. He has been charged with fraud and abuse of office.

The investigation believes that in 2017, the official, who held the post of first deputy head of the region, ordered to provide subsidies to two agricultural companies for 155 million rubles. At the same time, as law enforcement officers established, the enterprises did not meet the requirements for obtaining state support.

Among the other defendants are the former head of the Don Ministry of Agriculture Konstantin Rachalovskiy, his deputy Olga Gorbaneva and entrepreneur Vadim Vaneev, associated with the Eurodon agricultural holding.

Unlike Goncharov, the rest of the defendants are not in jail: for them, a subscription to not leave and house arrest are chosen. They partially pleaded guilty. The former vice-governor insists on his innocence.
