The court recovered from the Jewish community of Veliky Novgorod more than 150 thousand rubles for the injury of a horse

The Novgorod District Court ruled in the case of consumer protection. It was about the maintenance of a sports horse, reported the United press service of the courts of the Novgorod region.

The owner of the horse, nicknamed “Lavanda”, signed a contract with the Foundation “Jewish Community of Veliky Novgorod – Center for the Development of Spiritual and Cultural Heritage” for the maintenance and care of the animal. However, later the horse was found to have serious injury: extensive swelling of the right front leg from hoof to shoulder and an open festering wound. When inspecting the walking area, a dangerous object was found - a steel rod about 1.5 meters long. The owner of the horse decided that he was the cause of the injury, and the presence of such an object in the range area is a direct violation of the Fund’s obligations to ensure the safety of the service.

After the claim, the Fund terminated the contract with the owner, and the latter appealed to the court, which sided with her. From the culprit of the incident recovered the cost of treating the horse — 76 thousand rubles, the cost of renting a horse — 20 thousand rubles, compensation for moral damage — 10 thousand rubles, and a fine — 53 thousand rubles.
