Svetlana Aleynikova: Presidential elections are the main form of political participation in the life of the country for Belarusians

Belarusians consider participation in the elections, primarily the President, to be an effective mechanism for their political participation in society. This opinion, presenting the results of a comprehensive republican sociological study, was expressed by BISI analyst Svetlana Aleynikova, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.
- Citizens are sure that their will can have an impact on the political system, and the presidential election is the main form of political participation in the life of the country, very important for people, Aleinikova said.
According to her, political parties, public associations and other structures are not so in demand.
- They have great reserves to show people their ability to solve certain problems. And when public organizations are involved in solving pressing issues, attention to them will grow.

In July - August 2026, the Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus commissioned by BISI conducted a comprehensive republican sociological study. It was attended by 2,045 respondents from all regions of the country. On September 16, the second part of the results of the social research, which concerns socio-political topics, was presented in Minsk.
