The Rasskazovsky district court of the Tambov region satisfied the requirements of the prosecutor's office and ordered the local correctional institution to bring the fire safety system in order. The reason for the proceedings was the results of the inspection, which revealed violations that pose a real threat to life and health of people, as well as the risk of material damage.
According to the court decision, the colony will have to install an automatic fire alarm system, as well as repair and maintenance of existing fire protection equipment. These requirements are subject to 18 months from the date of entry into force of the judicial act.
Representatives of the institution tried to challenge this decision in the Tambov Regional Court. In their appeal, they cited a lack of funding and said they would not be able to complete the work until December 2029.
However, the judicial board of the regional court found no grounds for changing or canceling the verdict of first instance. The complaint was found to be inconclusive and the district court decision remained in force.
