Belarus is developing self-service terminals, through which citizens and business representatives will be able to independently receive digital signatures. The project is in its final stages and is being tested. This was told to journalists on October 21 by the head of the republican certifying center of the National Center for Electronic Services Vladimir Basko.

The new terminals are designed for individuals, individual entrepreneurs and heads of organizations. They will allow you to go through the necessary procedures without direct interaction with the registrar at the point of service.
To obtain an EDS, the user will need to undergo document verification and biometric identification. Special scanners will check the authenticity of the document, its validity and expiration date. The owner’s photo is also checked against the population register.
- In the first phase, we confirm that the person directly standing near the terminal is a living person. The information is checked, the document is checked, all the necessary authenticity parameters are checked. These are specialized spectral analysis, requests to various state information resources, including the population register, where photographs are stored, Basko explained.
According to him, the identity check is carried out at several stages. Additional biometric identification is provided in the process of forming a personal key. This is necessary to confirm that the electronic digital signature is received by the person who originally contacted the terminal.
After checking the data, the system will be able to generate a personal key to the appropriate media and issue a public key certificate. As a result, the user will receive a carrier with an electronic digital signature.
The project is in the final stage of development and is being tested. The decision will be presented on October 26-27 at the International Forum on Banking Information Technologies. After completion of the tests, the terminals must undergo certification and the necessary procedures to ensure the protection of information. Then they plan to implement in points of service throughout the country.
