In Tula, the concept of improvement of the Upa embankment from Nikitskaya Street in the direction of Soviet was discussed. The public meeting was chaired by Deputy head of the city administration Maxim Shcherbakov, told “MK in Tula” in the press service of the mayor.
Representatives of municipal services and residents of the regional center participated in the discussion.
The renewal of the territory was initiated by Governor Dmitry Milyaev. The work is planned to be carried out in 2027 within the framework of the program “Formation of a modern urban environment” of the national project “Infrastructure for Life”.
The participants of the meeting considered the project of the future public space. On the embankment it is planned to lay paving slabs, plant greenery, install benches, urns and swings with canopies. The concept also provides for the creation of platforms for quiet and active recreation, observation points, a photo zone and a river tram stop. They want to supplement the territory with art objects and architectural illumination.
The name of the future space was discussed separately. The site where Sovetskaya Street faces the modern bridge is historically connected with the Trinity Church. Therefore, at the meeting, it was proposed to name the updated territory of the Trinity Embankment.
We will remind, earlier “MK in Tula” said that Dmitry Milyaev presented the concept of future improvement of the embankment.
In its development, the proposals of residents of different ages and business representatives were taken into account. Citizens participated in design sessions, competitions and meetings, and specialists of the Ministry of Construction of Russia to create a comfortable urban environment joined in the preparation of the project.
The concept included a walkway, a quiet area with swings, canopies and benches, as well as art objects.
The first stage of renovation of the territory is scheduled for 2027. The master plan for the further development of the entire embankment is expected to be approved in December.
