"You can get cold out here!" Italian made fun of the Russian weather, but the heating bill silenced him – he was in shock
Marco, an Italian, came to Moscow in early October and was convinced that Russians were living in a constant cold. He imagined the capital gray, drenched and uncomfortable, so even sunny weather seemed to him a temporary exception.

But a walk around the city quickly destroyed the usual notions. On Red Square, tourists walked, families with children rested in the Alexander Garden, and on the embankments were full of people. Autumn parks and well-kept streets surprised the guest, although he continued to argue that the real Russia in winter turns into an icy desert, writes Zen channel “Talk about education”.
The main surprise awaited Marco in the apartment of his friend. It was warm, batteries were working, and the owner offered the Italian to look at the bill for housing and communal services.
After seeing the amount, the guest asked several times whether he understood the figures correctly. According to him, in Italy for comparable housing had to pay much more, and heating did not always provide a comfortable temperature.
Marco admitted he didn't expect to see this. He came with ready-made ideas about Russia, but encountered a modern city, landscaped public spaces and warm apartments.
Before leaving, the Italian promised to tell friends about his trip and admitted that he now wants to return in the winter to see Moscow in the cold.
This story reminds us that ideas about another country often consist of other people’s stories and stereotypes. But real life may not be what it was before the trip.
