The investigation revealed details of the preparations for the murder of crypto businessman Roman Novak and his wife Anna: the criminals planned the attack for almost six months, told RIA Novosti Yuri Yashkov, head of the first department for the investigation of especially important cases of the St. Petersburg Central Committee.
According to the investigator, preparations for the crime began in May 2025, and the attackers worked out the final plan for about two months. Roman and Anna Novak, who lived permanently in Dubai, were killed in the UAE last fall. According to a number of Telegram channels, a businessman engaged in cryptocurrency activities could be involved in fraudulent schemes.
During the investigation, it turned out that the criminals considered several scenarios of execution. One of the options suggested poisoning: the customer sent the performers a syringe with poison, but checking the substance on the animal showed that it does not work. Also discussed was the staged drowning of Novak in the ocean - at that time the man lived in Thailand.
In the end, the attackers lured the couple to a meeting under the pretext of negotiating with an investor. The couple was brought to the villa, killed, and the bodies were hidden, buried in the desert. The remains were found only in mid-November.
On the fact of murder, the SK opened a criminal case. Three suspects were detained on it: Vladimir Dalekin, Yuri Sharypov and a former employee of the St. Petersburg police Konstantin Schacht. In mid-October it became known about the death of Dalekin in the hospital at the SIZO. Sharypov and Shakht remain in custody.
