Scientists have discovered who birds are most afraid of
City birds were more fearful when meeting women than men

City birds were more fearful when meeting women than men. This unexpected conclusion was reached by an international team of scientists who studied the behavior of birds in five European countries. The study was published in the scientific journal People and Nature.
The experiment was carried out in the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Poland and Spain. Men and women of the same height and in similar clothes approached birds in parks and squares. It turned out that birds allowed men to approach on average a meter closer, while when women appeared, they preferred to fly away earlier. A similar reaction was observed in all 37 species studied, including sparrows, tits, pigeons and forty.
The reason for this behavior remains a mystery. Experts suggest that birds are able to distinguish people by smell, physique or gait. At the same time, scientists admit that none of the hypotheses has yet received convincing confirmation.
In total, the researchers conducted 2701 observations, but they could not explain the increased alertness of birds towards women. According to experts, the discovery indicates that birds notice subtle differences between people that others may not even realize. More research will be needed to solve this phenomenon.
