Ulyanovsk oil is increasingly being bought abroad: exports grew almost nine times
Since the beginning of 2026, enterprises of the Ulyanovsk region sent abroad 1,286 tons of vegetable oil

Since the beginning of 2026, enterprises of the Ulyanovsk region have sent abroad 1,286 tons of vegetable oil. This is 8.6 times more than in the same period last year. At the same time, production volumes in the region increased significantly.
According to the regional Ministry of Agriculture, the increase in foreign supplies is accompanied by the active development of the oil and fat industry. In January-August 2026, the production of vegetable oil in the Ulyanovsk region increased by 2.6 times compared to the same period in 2025.
Positive dynamics also affected export indicators. The total volume of oil and fat products shipped abroad reached 2211.1 tons. At the same time, directly on vegetable oil accounted for 1286 tons.
The products of Ulyanovsk manufacturers come to several countries at once. Foreign buyers include Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Belarus.
Expansion of supplies allows local enterprises to strengthen their positions in foreign markets. The growth of processing also creates additional opportunities for agricultural producers in the region, supplying raw materials for oil production.
Exports of oil and fat products are regulated at the federal level. According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, in October 2026, the duty on the export of sunflower oil is 7748 rubles per ton.
This mechanism is used to regulate the ratio of supplies to domestic and foreign markets. It is designed to take into account the interests of Russian consumers and manufacturers against the background of changes in the market situation.
The development of the export direction in the Ulyanovsk region is carried out within the framework of the national project “International Cooperation and Export”. Its implementation is aimed at expanding the presence of domestic products abroad and strengthening foreign economic relations.
