The animator of “The Nightmare Before Christmas” has passed away

British animator Loyd Price, who participated in the creation of the famous animated films The Nightmare Before Christmas, Wallace and Gromit and Escape from the Chicken Coop, has died. His death was announced by Aardman Studios, to which he devoted more than three decades of work.

The studio noted Price’s contribution to the development of animation, as well as his role in the training of new specialists. Colleagues remember him as a talented animator, friend and mentor who helped the younger generations of animators.

One of Price's early works was the animated film The Intractable Dragon, on which he worked in 1987. The film received the British Academy of Film and Television Arts award.

In 1993, the animator participated in the creation of Tim Burton’s film The Nightmare Before Christmas. He later worked on projects at Aardman Studios, including cartoons about the adventures of Wallace and Gromit and the film Escape from the Chicken Coop.

The last work in the filmography of Price was the second part of “Escape from the Chicken Coop”.
