Passed away the legendary pediatrician Vologda Maya Kaganer

Before the 100th anniversary of a couple of months, died Maya Kaganer – a legendary pediatrician who put his life on the treatment of young patients. There was only one record in her workbook. In the Vologda railway hospital Vologzhanka worked for 50 years. The doctor took patients with the most difficult diagnoses.

Maya Kaganer decided to become a pediatrician as a child. During the evacuation during the Great Patriotic War, she became very ill. The doctors paid attention to her. Later, she helped take care of other sick children.

Maya was born in Leningrad, studied in Nizhny Tagil. But when I came to Vologda, I fell in love with this city and stayed forever. Here she married and had children. Her husband worked as the head doctor of the hospital. He considered it inappropriate to present his wife to awards.

The pediatrician did not receive honorary titles, but was embraced by boundless folk love and appreciation. The woman treated the children of railway workers, ordinary workers, first persons and celebrities of the city and the region.

Farewell to Maya Kaganer will be held in the Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ on October 16 at 11.00. She will be buried next to her husband in the Poshekhonsky cemetery.
