In 2026, 660 large families will be sent to build housing

To date, 506 out of 660 large families have been allocated for housing construction. By the end of the year, the plan will be fully implemented. On September 14, the head of the housing policy department of the Minsk City Executive Committee Sergey Shakel told at an operational meeting, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

Currently, 68,060 people are registered in Minsk in need of better housing conditions. Of these, 3,047 are large families, 1,621 citizens are entitled to social housing, 17,297 are entitled to state support.

- For 8 months of 2026, 413 apartments of the state housing stock were distributed - 284 rental and 129 social. Social housing was mainly provided to orphans and families with disabled children. Citizens also have opportunities to build housing. In particular, 506 out of 660 large families are already targeted for construction, which is 76.7% of the task. By the end of the year, the plan will be fully implemented, Shakel said.

He recalled that in order to improve housing conditions, a large family must first be registered with those in need. At the same time, they are sent for construction on a priority basis, as a result, during the year, every large family is necessarily offered options.

In total, in January-August, 847 families were sent to improve housing conditions through the construction and purchase of housing, including 506 large families, 5 from among orphans, 46 with disabled children.

Housing can also be improved by building in satellite cities. To do this, during the period of receiving applications, it is necessary to contact the local administration.
