In the Arkhangelsk region, “Star” celebrated its 72nd anniversary

The ship repair center "Zvezdochka", part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, celebrated the 72nd anniversary of the start of production activities. At the gala evening in the scientific and technical center of the enterprise, more than 200 employees of the shipyard were awarded.

On behalf of the Governor of the Arkhangelsk region Alexander Tsybul factory workers congratulated the first Deputy Chairman of the regional government Dmitry Rozhin. He stressed the importance of the enterprise for strengthening the country's defense capability, the development of Severodvinsk and the economy of Pomerania.

Over decades of work, Zvezdochka specialists repaired and modernized hundreds of surface ships and submarines, mastered the production of civilian products and marine equipment. According to Dmitry Rozhin, behind these results are the professionalism of engineers, the skill of workers and the ability of the team to solve complex production problems.

Special thanks were expressed to veterans and mentors who passed on their knowledge and experience to new generations of shipbuilders. Distinguished employees were awarded diplomas of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia for their contribution to the development of the shipbuilding industry and many years of conscientious work.

Acting Director and Chief Engineer of Zvezdochka Ship Repair Center JSC Sergey Kukin noted that the enterprise preserves the traditions of quality and professional responsibility. During its history, the team was awarded state and industry awards, and more than 700 employees received high state awards.

According to Sergey Kukin, in 2026, work on state orders, repair and modernization of ships continues on the stocks and berths of the enterprise. He also stressed that an important confirmation of the quality of work remains the feedback of seafarers who operate the ship repaired and updated.

As part of the celebration of Labor Glory Day, more than 200 employees received various awards, including gratitude from the leadership of the United Shipbuilding Corporation, diplomas of the Severodvinsk administration and the City Council of Deputies. Four employees were awarded a badge “For services to the enterprise”.

In addition, the plant noted the best young workers and specialists, awarded the title of “Veteran of the enterprise” and presented gifts to employees who took prizes at the XI Open Corporate Championship of professional skills of employees of the USC Group societies.

The history of "Star" began on October 14, 1954. On this day, the icebreaker Pronchichev came to the berth of plant No. 893, which later became the center of ship repair. The ship, transferred to the Soviet Union under Lend-Lease and arrived in the North in 1942 as part of the allied convoy PQ-15, was the first order of Yagrin shipbuilders. This date marked the beginning of the production history of the enterprise and today is celebrated as Labor Glory Day.
