In Ashdod, the grand opening of the Warrior's House - a new center for the rehabilitation and support of wounded IDF soldiers and combat veterans

In Ashdod, the grand opening of the Warrior’s House, a new center for the rehabilitation and support of wounded IDF soldiers and combat veterans, took place. For the city, this event became an important milestone, and for people who survived serious injuries and the consequences of the war, an opportunity to receive the necessary assistance, restore strength and return to a full life.
The ceremony was held in the presence of the President of Israel and his wife. Together with them, veterans and wounded IDF fighters participated in the solemn event, for whom this center was created for many years.
The meeting with servicemen who paid for the security of the country with their own health gave the ceremony a special emotional depth. Behind each of them is a personal story of courage, trials and struggle with the consequences of injuries, including psychological ones, which are not always noticeable to others.
The opening of the Warrior’s House in Ashdod is compared to the appearance of the city hospital. While the hospital is primarily designed to treat and save lives, the new center is designed to help people recover from hardships, overcome the effects of injuries and find support among those who have gone through similar circumstances.
Here wounded servicemen and veterans will be able to receive rehabilitation assistance, communicate with comrades and spend time in an atmosphere of mutual understanding. A special place is given to the families of fighters, who together with them face daily difficulties of recovery and need support no less than the victims themselves.
The implementation of the project took many years of work and overcoming numerous obstacles. One of the main initiators of the completion of the construction was the chairman of the IDF Disabled Persons Organization Idan Kleiman, for whom the opening of the Warrior House in Ashdod was a priority.
The project was implemented thanks to the joint efforts of the IDF Disabled Persons Organization, Ashdod Municipality, partners and philanthropists. The support of patrons has played an important role in creating a space that should become a real second home for veterans and their loved ones.
For the city leadership, the opening of the center was the end of a long journey. To see at the ceremony the people for whom this work was carried out was to receive the most convincing confirmation of the need for years of effort.
The Warrior’s House is not just a rehabilitation facility. Its mission is to create an environment in which veterans can feel part of the community, not be left alone with physical pain and emotional experiences, find understanding and support.
The project is based on the principles of mutual responsibility, solidarity and care for those who defended the state. Special attention is paid not only to the restoration of health, but also to the return of fighters to active social and family life.
Ashdod Municipality intends to continue to support the activities of the center, considering it as an integral part of the urban community.
The opening of the Warrior’s House was an expression of gratitude to the people who sacrificed their health for Israel’s security. Now wounded IDF fighters, veterans and their families have their own place where they can count on help, human warmth and support.
Ashdod has become a home for them, where they remember their feat and are proud of them.
