In the Astrakhan region, Rosmorport is preparing for winter navigation
In preparation for the season, an increase in the number of icebreakers in the region is planned.

Maintaining the continuous operation of ports during the winter months is a key aspect for the growth of the transit potential of the international Caspian routes.
The head of the region Igor Babushkin said through his channel in the MAX messenger that the Astrakhan division of Rosmorport is completing preparations for the period of ice navigation 2026-2027. The main priority is to ensure the safe movement of ships within the port of Olya and on the highway of the Volga-Caspian sea shipping channel.
In order to guarantee unhindered escort of ships during the winter, the Astrakhan branch of Rosmorport is increasing its icebreaker fleet.
In addition, the region is working to strengthen human resources. At the moment, 52 pilots are involved in the water area. Ten more specialists undergoing intensive training are expected to take up their professional duties in the coming weeks.
