Traveling through the cities of modern Russia, its people and subject history became the theme of the joint cultural project Avito Travels and the Marco Polo hotel. This was reported in the press service of the platform.
The project combines two new spaces inside the hotel – a living room and a themed room. The design of the living room was done by actress and TV presenter Vera Kincheva. In the interior there are vintage chairs and tables, mirrors of different eras, crystal chandeliers and other items, some of which were found on the platform. Collected together, they create the image of a modern Moscow living room, in which things of different times have received new life.
A program of events with the participation of representatives of culture, art and media, which will be dedicated to Russian cities and regions, is planned in the living room. The theme of the first meeting, which will be held in early November, will be modern Moscow - from architecture and cultural routes to literature, gastronomy and hospitality traditions.
The second space is a thematic room decorated by designer Olympiad Arefieva. It is dedicated to the charity Jane McGill, who commissioned the hotel building in 1904. The interior does not repeat the historical setting, but represents the author's view of what McGill's room could look like. The design used dishes, lacquer boxes, old textiles and vintage furniture.
