About 90 people have been saved in Belarus since the beginning of the year thanks to autonomous fire detectors

About 90 people have been rescued by autonomous fire detectors (APIs) in Belarus since the beginning of 2026. On October 19, the head of the main department of supervision and prevention of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus Dmitry Turchin told reporters, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.

- There are two state programs in the country, and this is not the first five-year plan, thanks to which vulnerable categories of citizens can receive and receive social support from the state in the form of assistance in repairing furnace heating, as well as installing autonomous fire detectors. After nine months of this year, more than 7 thousand furnaces have been repaired in Belarus at the expense of the state and more than 50 thousand IPAs have been installed. In addition, seeing the positive effect of these devices, we intensified the work. In 2026, a large-scale campaign was announced to install fire detectors, within which more than 111 thousand IPAs have already been installed, Turchin said.

According to him, the fire detector is an effective device that does not require any serious maintenance. All you need is a serviceable Krona battery, the device will inform you about the low level of charge using a signal.

- Since 2002, since the intensive spread of IPAs, about 2.9 thousand people have been saved in the country thanks to them. In 2026 – about 90, including 25 children. In September, two large families were rescued one day apart. Of course, the work on the installation of detectors will continue, Turchin said.
