The main efforts of the Prosecutor General’s Office and other law enforcement agencies are focused on identifying not isolated facts of domestic corruption, but on identifying criminal schemes, including in the implementation of investment and state programs. On this today, October 20, at a press conference in the House of Press, said senior prosecutor of the Department for combating corruption and organized crime of the Prosecutor General's office Andrey Fedorovichev, the correspondent of sb.by.

Upon receipt of the Head of State, law enforcement agencies pay special attention to countering unreasonable mediation. Only prosecutors this year opened 236 criminal cases, said Andrei Fedorovichev. He added that most of them are somehow associated with bribery in procurement and lobbying the interests of commercial organizations.
The Prosecutor General’s Office together with the Ministry of Internal Affairs this year revealed a large-scale scheme of bribery of about 50 officials of industrial enterprises, agriculture, housing and communal services, construction and transport. All this concerns the supply of electrical equipment. To extract maximum profit, this equipment was supplied to Belarusian organizations through a chain of business entities controlled by the bribe-giver. natural, in order to artificially increase the cost. The amount of bribes was up to 10 percent of the cost of the equipment purchased and in some cases reached 190 thousand rubles, and the total amount of bribes amounted to 750,000 rubles, Andrei Fedorovichev cited the example.
In connection with violations of the procurement legislation, more than 800 procurement procedures were canceled at the request of the prosecutor. A recent example: the competition for the selection of a general contractor for the construction of a dairy farm worth 40 million rubles has been canceled.
The fight against corruption is not limited to measures of criminal law. In exercising supervisory powers, prosecutors focus on early detection of corruption. Thus, according to the results of inspections conducted in 2026 by prosecutors, more than 2,700 officials were brought to disciplinary, administrative and material liability, 14 of them were dismissed from their posts.
In the development of the topic at the press conference gave several illustrative examples. Thus, at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the chairman of one of the agricultural production cooperatives of the Minsk region transferred to the budget 22.5 thousand rubles, which he received as payment for a tourist trip from representatives of the business entity with which this SEC has economic relations. Or here's another example. At the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the former director of one of the oil refineries recovered 40 thousand rubles to the budget, received by him as payment for corporate parties and banquets.
